James Oliver, widely regarded as one of the best guitarists in the country, is playing Cefn Fforest Miners’ Institute on 21st February 2026
James has performed over 4000 gigs and shared the stage with many acts including Albert Lee, Bill Kirchen, Deke Leonard, Greg Koch, Walter Trout, Steve Gibbons, Billy Bremner, Geraint Watkins, and many others.

In 2020 James won the UK Blues Awards Emerging Artist of the Year. He has released three studio album, the latest, ‘Bombay to Blackwood’, features drummer Mark Kelmo (who has previously played with such legends as Wanda Jackson, Charlie Gracie, Merril E Moore) and Bassist Norman Watt Roy (who’s previous gigs include The Blockheads, the Wilco Johnson Band and has even appeared on albums by the Clash and Frankie Goes to Hollywood)
