Blackwood and District Art Society, a new group based in the Stute for local people with an interest in art, will be launched on Wednesday 18th February 2026.
The group will meet 6-8pm every Wednesday – although when the group is established there is the possibility of changing nights.
Blackwood and District Art Society welcomes all ages in the Community who have a love of any form of Creativity, on any skill level to begin what aims to be a peaceful and connecting group that inspires and nurtures the developing talents of all members alike.
Creativity in any of it’s forms is a wonderful therapeutic activity, helps you to take a step back from the chaos, focuses your mind on something rewarding.
The idea is also that this is a social group, but don’t think that you have to be a ‘social’ person to join – not everyone feels comfortable with that and we get it. We’ll just be happy to see you there.
There will be opportunities to display work at exhibitions planned further into the year, show off your skills and chances to sell work. There will also be plans to bring in local artists to demonstrate how they create their work on an occasional basis.
First session free, £2 per person per week thereafter
Refreshments available – some will have a small charge ie soft drink cans
Group runs term time with some additional meetings in school holidays
