Three new trustees were elected to the board of the charity at this year’s Annual General Meeting on 6th February.
Robert Hibbert, Neil ‘Rambo’ Thomas and Megan Evans were elected by members of the charity to join our team of Trustees overseeing the business of the charity for the next year.
Robert Hibbert is a local lad that has been extremely helpful in recent months, organising several fund raising social events with live music. The next event will feature All Mod Cons, plus a Northern Soul DJ, on 8th March in the Blue Club. More details here fund raiser 8th march – all mod cons – live band + dj
Neil Thomas is the son of the late Nat Thomas, a founder of our charity, and brother of Ian Thomas, our Treasurer, who has been working extremely hard in the last year, both raising money and getting his hands dirty in the building. Neil recently ran a half marathon and raised £900 for the charity – volunteers raise £900 through sponsored half marathon
Megan Evans is London born and bred but, as her name suggests, has a strong Welsh connection. She has recently moved to Wales and is looking forward to rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck in with our community.
The meeting also had a discussion around the finances of the charity and our annual report, which can be read from the following link: cefn fforest miners’ institute annual report 2023

If you wish to be involved in the charity or just support us, membership for the next year is now due. Please contact us at cefnfforestminers@yahoo.com or speak to one of our trustees.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Howard Richards, our long standing Treasurer, who has stepped down since our last AGM
